LARAMIE — Lyman’s Lady Eagle swim team capped off their year with sixth place overall at the state meet.
Senior Brynlee Busskohl was the lone state champion for the Eagles with a swim of 59.70 in the 100 butterfly and school record as well as all-state honors in the event and All-state honors in the breast stoke with her 2nd place finish. Busskohl leaves the Lyman swim program with four state championships, one state record and nearly all the school records.
Green River High School took first with 282 points. They were followed by Cody with 193 at the state swim meet last week in Laramie.
Senior Brynlee Busskohl again took the championship in the 100 yard butterfly. With the state meet, Busskohl closes out her high school swim career and will compete at San Diego State University as a member of the women’s swim team.
Lyman took sixth at the state meet with 113 points. Lyman swimmers in the top 10 places include:
200 Medley Relay – 9. A (Anna Jo Short, Sara Jensen, Libbie Allen, Broke Bindl) 2:11.69. They placed in the consolation final with a 2:11:69.
200 IM – 7. Kira Walk, senior, 2:27.82;
50 Yard Free – 3. Emry Hamblin, freshman, 25.46;
100 Fly – 1. Brynlee Busskohl, 59.70;
500 Free – 7. Kira Walk, 5:46.51. Walk placed in the consolation finals.
200 Free Relay – 2. A (Brynlee Busskohl, Emry Hamblin,Shelby Parkinson, Kira Walk) 1:44.22;
100 Breaststroke – 2. Brynlee Busskohl, 1:05.76
400 Free Relay – 4. A (Kira Walk, Shelby Parkinson, Emry Hamblin, Brynlee Busskohl) 3:52.88. This team set a new school record.
